A Welcoming, Accommodating Spirit
At KinderCare, it's important to supply every single employee with what they need to succeed, including accommodations for any disabilities or impairments they may have. This welcoming, accepting spirit helps Betty, who has a visual impairment, do the work she needs to do, as KinderCare provides her with all the tools she needs to be successful. It's pretty safe to say that her guide dog Veron has become the favorite co-worker around the office.
Diverse Skills, Singular Vision
KinderCare is a place where a variety of team members with diverse skills—from teachers to facility maintenance crew to recruiters—are united around the common goal of providing the best possible early childhood education. Whether an employee is repairing equipment out in the field or teaching a lesson in a classroom, everyone’s work matters, and KinderCare’s staff is composed of individuals who are truly invested in positively impacting the lives of children and their families.
A Variety of Contexts
With more than 1,400 centers across the United States, KinderCare serves over 160,000 children a day. Always looking to make a bigger impact, KinderCare is driven to continually grow in order to provide a consistently high level of education to more and more children. As part of that goal, KinderCare offers two distinct site-specific programs—KinderCare at Work and the school-based Champions program—in addition to its dedicated KinderCare Learning Centers.
An Open, Supportive Environment
KinderCare intentionally fosters a supportive office environment, one where employees learn from each other and freely collaborate to reach their shared goals. The workplace has been likened to a big classroom, wherein staff not only learn and grow together, but also have fun—as exemplified by the occasional outdoor game of bocce ball. Additionally, KinderCare’s Management Team maintains an open-door policy, while also offering employees flexible scheduling to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Innovation for Education
Since early childhood is such a formative time in a child’s life, KinderCare is passionate about enriching kids’ neurological potential during those key years. To accomplish this goal, KinderCare seeks out innovative, forward-thinking approaches to education—always looking to be ahead of the curve. Staff are encouraged to think outside the box and find creative ways to improve systems and become more efficient and effective as an organization, whether in individual KinderCare centers or at the company’s national headquarters in Lake Oswego.
Teaching With KinderCare
While the people who work at KinderCare come from a mix of backgrounds, something they all have in common is their integrity. The team values good character, honesty, and trustworthiness, but they also consider themselves risk takers and lifelong learners. Above all, the employees at KinderCare are passionate about teaching children and are people who strive to give their best each and every day.
Investing in their Teachers
Each KinderCare classroom is designed to be an environment where children can explore different subjects and find out what they love within a safe, fun atmosphere. To help accomplish this, KinderCare seeks to provide its team with outstanding training where employees get to bond with each other while gaining expertise in the field of early childhood education. The end goal is to equip teachers who are genuinely passionate about instilling a lifelong love of learning in kids with the skills needed to build a foundation for continued scholastic success.
