Vice President, Corporate Information Technology

Job location: the ideal candidate will be based near Ottawa and can go into the office 4 days a week.

About the role

Reporting to the CTO, the VP of Corporate IT is responsible for defining and executing our IT strategy, including designing, developing, and implementing organizational information systems, software applications, and IT support and infrastructure. An inspiring leader with seasoned experience building, growing, and developing a team of IT professionals, the VP of Corporate IT will lead the IT Services, IT Governance and Operations, Applications Excellence and IT Business Partnering portfolios at Kinaxis and will ensure alignment between IT solutions, technology, business processes, network management, and security practices. 

What you will do

  • In partnership with the CTO, establish and deliver on the strategic direction of the company’s information technology roadmap; take ownership of the execution of this strategy, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the business. 
  • Oversee and be a key decision-maker in the selection, acquisition, development, implementation, and maintenance of all Information technology and solutions at Kinaxis. 
  • Communicate, enforce, and ensure IT programs and policies are adopted, and expertly navigate the organization through technology change while maintaining compliance requirements. 
  • Build collaborative relationships, trust, rapport, and credibility with stakeholders across the organization and within the industry; assess needs and requests from the business and provide practical and scalable solutions. 
  • Establish, monitor, and report on KPI metrics to executive team members. 
  • Identify and recommend technology, upgrades, and services to improve efficiency, processes, and operations and demonstrate ROI. 
  • Develop and manage the corporate IT business unit's annual operating and capital expenditure budget. 
  • Oversee technology infrastructure such as servers, databases, networks, and operations.  
  • Develop and maintain the systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data and communication exchange between systems. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Corporate IT team; promote a Values-led working environment that is respectful and inclusive through role-modelling, accountability, and support; and hold IT leaders to the same standards.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships, hold quarterly business reviews with key business stakeholders, and negotiate contracts with procurement.
  • Manage the Corp IT budget and all the annual planning required to build a roadmap and backlog of work in tight collaboration with the finance team.  

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field. 
  • 15+ years of experience in progressively senior technical roles in a high-tech, global organization; publicly traded preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience leading an international team of IT professionals responsible for process optimization, automation, digital transformation, and cloud migration initiatives; exceptional leadership skills. 
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving collaboration between technology, business, security, and cloud functions. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • An articulate, skilled communicator who can provide clear, concise messaging to multiple audiences and platforms.  
  • Highly influential; expertly prepares and presents information that will engage a diverse audience in an inspiring and impactful way and which contributes to stakeholder buy-in. 
  • Agile and resilient within an environment of ongoing urgency, and experience leading a team to pivot based on business needs and priorities expertly.
