Job Description Summary

As a member of the Technical Training & Development team, you will be an active contributor to the development of our employees' competencies, capacity, and proficiency to support and grow the primary differentiator between Steam Power and competitors: our people. This role will require you to support the technical training program development and delivery across the Steam Power Services business. The selected individual will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the business to ensure a systematic approach to design, development, and delivery of mechanical training for assigned Generator technology.

This role will require extended assignments of up to 90 days at the learning centers in Houston, Birr, and Berlin.



Job Description

Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating expertise in the Systematic Approach to Training process to include design, development, and delivery of mechanical maintenance training for assigned Generator technology.

  • You have advanced experience with our Generator technology, and the application of instructional design theory in the technical environment, including measurement and evaluation methods.

Your Role:

  • Deliver training for Steam Power Services Generator courses
  • Support delivery of Gas Power Generator courses as needed
  • Participate in the ADDIE process for Generator training development and enhancements
  • Ensure applicable Steam Power processes are accurately integrated and updated in the Generator training programs
  • Create an effective and engaging training experience for Instructor Led Training, including utilizing current technology to enhance the student experience
  • Monitor, evaluate and make recommendations to the qualifications of Generator test personnel
  • Lead the Peer Review team who can authorize the initial advancement for test personnel from 2nd person to 1st person
  • Review qualifications of the test personnel, adjust the qualifications as necessary, and issue high voltage letters
  • Support one field assignment per year

Basic Qualifications:

  • For roles in USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 6 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experince.
  • For roles outside USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with considerable years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with significant years of relevant experince.
  • 3+ years professional experience as a qualified Generator Specialist with GE or equivalent
  • English proficiency required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Subject Matter Expert level of Generator product knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience implementing adult learning theories and instructional design models
  • Well-developed instructor platform skills
  • Established project management skills
  • Current or recent instructor qualification or equivalent experience
  • Flexible and willing to learn and teach new technologies
  • Experience managing technical training programs
  • Field experience with Generator and EE equipment design, installation, startup, troubleshooting and/or maintenance

If hired in the U.S.: The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $122,000.00 USD Annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include Health and Retirement.
