The Leidos Defense Group has openings for Technical Writer team members at Joint Base Langley, Warner Robins, and Newport News.
This position is part of a large Military Intelligence Program supporting the USAF Air Combat Command's Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS). Technical Writer writes, edits, proofreads, and maintains written documentation supporting technical and non-technical programmatic, sustainment planning, strategic planning documentation, technical meetings and reviews, and review boards. Ensures documents meet editorial and government specifications for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
This is for a proposal. We are expecting award and funding of these positions in February 2024.
This position requires a TS/SCI Clearance and does not allow for remote work.
Primary Duties
- Assist with the designing and developing tech manuals, brochures, training material, and other documentation.
- Research technical reference materials.
- Gathers relevant technical information.
- Drafts copies of documentation.
- Recommend use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publications objectives.
- Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing and publishing, including technological enhancements that may affect the corporation.
- Consult with technical subject-matter experts to ensure common understanding of publications and related materials to be produced.
- Designing and developing tech manuals, brochures, training material, and other documentation.
- Researching technical reference materials.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a relevant degree field.
- At least 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; must possess a current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Must have ability to effectively organize and analyze information, produce professional reports, position papers, briefings, and decision documents.
- Basic experience using relevant AF systems and databases.
Preferred Quals
- Previous AF DCGS system experience is highly desired.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00
