Job Summary

The Technical Program Manage r, Medical will be based in Hollis, New Hampshire . We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our talented and dynamic product development group and play a critical role in creating the next generation of advanced medical technologies. This individual will lead complex medical device programs both technically and operationally and identify, nurture, and drive new business opportunities with our clients.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Create and lead multi-disciplinary program strategies using your technical and program management expertise.
  • Be the main point of communication with the client.
  • Manage and facilitate brainstorming sessions, concept reviews, and design reviews with the technical and/or design leads.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring regarding all facets of product development and program management to team members.
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and lead teams for your client programs. Participate in weekly resource allocation decisions.
  • Proactively identify program risks and work with the team to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage schedules and budgets for your programs.
  • Author proposals, including project plans, schedules with appropriate milestones, and estimates for both resources and material costs.
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for the program, ensuring that the content, quality, accuracy, and style of deliverables meet our client's requirements.
  • Identifies and builds connections with the client's extended team to understand organizational structure and responsibility to explore additional opportunities within the client organization.
  • Collaborates with the CSMs and BDs to share contacts and develop outreach and proactive sales approaches to gain new development and manufacturing opportunities.
  • Proactively maintain and connects with past clients and professional network to look for new opportunities and to gain market insights.
The experience we are looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, biomedical, electrical, software, plastics) from an accredited school; 10+ years of product development experience; and 3+ years of project leadership/program management experience.
  • Ability to lead programs with a strong sense of drive and accountability.
  • Ability to architect and simplify complex systems, manage interdisciplinary trade-offs to achieve overall product goals, and give technical guidance to the development team.
  • Hands-on skills for developing mechanical components (e.g., injection molded plastic, machined, cast, etc.) and systems and can lead/review the work of others.
  • An in-depth knowledge of multi-disciplinary development team collaboration through the design and development process.
  • Expertise in various manufacturing processes and techniques and experience in design for manufacturing and assembly principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members, including technical concepts and budget and schedule issues.
  • Ability to support business development, author proposals, give presentations, and participate in meetings with prospective clients as the front-facing engineering representative in sales situations.
  • Demonstrated skills in analyzing product requirements and leading a team to develop feasible design alternatives, resolving design challenges, and producing high-quality deliverables.
  • A thorough understanding of the unique challenges of medical device development.
  • Experience managing product development programs from early concept through transfer..
  • Aptitude to create confidence in our team's ability to execute through our experience, capabilities, and exceptional problem-solving acumen.
  • Talent in building customer relationships through thoughtful listening, communication, authenticity, and ultimately being an advocate of their success.

  • Product development firm or design consultancy experience
  • PMP certification
  • Electromechanical product experience.
  • Medical device experience in ISO13485 environment.
  • Engineering simulation software (FEA, CFD, etc.).
  • Design of experiments.
  • One or more of the following: fluidic systems, robotics, catheters, materials, optics, prototype coding, sensor integration
