Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Senior Transition Manager will apply project and transition leadership and methodologies to transfer contracted responsibility and Infrastructure services from the client to Capgemini during the initial stages of the contract. This role will be performing engagement hand-over, execution pre-planning and knowledge transfer from client or incumbent service provider staff. Expectations include the development and delivering project plans and schedules for the transition within defined time frames and budgets, as well as staff team and lead infrastructure setup as required.
Specific duties include:

  • Responsible for planning and driving the transfer of key information for the support, operation and acceptance of solutions deployed into production.
  • Ensure service transition is planned and driven to schedule, budget and scope
  • Build transition plans including support models, organizational change, learning and communication work you're doing using transition framework
  • Coordinate the operational readiness plan, taking into consideration IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment (training and engagement activities) and any activities required to integrate new processes, tools or technologies into the steady state environment
  • Lead overall knowledge transfer process and execution of the staffing plan
  • Assess, analyze, develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change
  • Work with the members of the transition team to establish end-to-end project plan and approach and participate as member of the pursuit deal working on closing new business
  • Responsible for crafting the transition solution (schedule, transition team staff, staffing ramp up for knowledge transfer, transition costs) during the pursuit phase and compose transition documentation on pursuits!

What you Bring:

  • 10 + years experience of transitioning Infrastructure IT projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for transition budgets upwards of $5M in value and six months or longer in duration
  • 4 + years of experience in Infrastructure transition and/or project management or related technical field (deployment/implementation and infrastructure, datacenter, EUS, Azure/AWS/Google cloud)
  • Transition manager is encouraged to act independently to deliver to schedule, budget and scope and demonstrates dedication to IT methodologies, processes and standards for transition planning and support
  • Ability to develop relationships across the IT organization and strong analytical skills

Desired Skills

  • Project management certification is helpful (PMP, PRINCE2)
  • ITIL v2 or 3.
