Purpose of the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to own the iPipeline data proposition. You will be leveraging an appreciation of data-driven business insight, strong industry knowledge and business acumen to create new data-driven solutions in the life market
You will be supporting and driving the business goals of iPipeline through commercial ownership and/or support of Data products and propositions throughout their lifecycle including research, business case, design, development, testing, implementation and communications.
Responsibilities:
- Managing Data products throughout the product lifecycle, including generating and gathering product requirements, managing roadmap, managing preliminary design concepts, balancing customer needs with technical architecture, and working with development and architecture to implement.
- Deliver market research including, industry research, customer engagement, internal staff feedback and competitor analysis.
- Following established business processes for taking new products to market.
- Manage and monitor identified new potential initiatives through initial exploration, prototyping and screening processes, including closing non-viable initiatives as soon as possible.
- Business documentation (and prototypes) of Data products considering targeting, positioning against competitor solutions, pricing, distribution or complementary solutions, support, sales collateral and drafting of PR releases.
- Develop business cases to obtain senior management approval, including assessment to ensure strategic fit with the business which are achievable within available resources.
- Open and manage new proposition ideas and channels.
- Communication of Data product development to internal and external stakeholders and customer groups. Research, prepare, and present cost benefit analysis of potential product implementation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customer teams to ensure we have a two-way communication on development plans and proposition design.
- Work closely with the marketing team to maximize Data product exposure in the market.
- Provide specialist Data product support throughout the business, including the adoption, support, sales and provider account functions. Work with Sales and lead clients to ensure effective design and take up of solution, including attending account meetings
- Work closely with cross functional teams to reduce the speed to market and facilitate effective product delivery covering; detailed project proposal, requirements gathering, marketing, sales, delivery, commercials, contracts, training and support
- Present reports to internal and external audiences in a variety of formats including face to face, web based and PowerPoint presentation
- To manage existing Data products, including backlogs and release notes
Skills/Experience Required:
- Experience of product development lifecycle management
- Experience in Marketing Fundamentals such as customer segmentation, product pricing, and marketing auditing
- Knowledge of financial services technology solutions
- Developing a software/data solution from concept to market, including market research
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Able to influence at highest levels with Strong interpersonal and presentation skills communicating the business value of data insight
- Highly numerate and data literate and comfortable interpreting and presenting complicated data artefacts
- Effective networking skills for building relationships with staff, customers, and providers
