As a ProductInformation Architect on the Architecture & Quality team, you'll play a keyrole in ensuring that we deliver stellar information products to Siemenscustomers. You will work closely with a large team of information developersthat supports a variety of highly technical products. In addition to workingwith information developers, you will also work closely with a centralengineering team that develops and maintains a DITA-based CCMS authoring andpublishing environment. Your responsibilities will encompass various endeavorsthat comprise the role of an information architect, such as the following:
- User and task analysis
- Content model design and implementation
- Information mapping, categorization, andtaxonomy development
- Prototype development for informational flowsand user experiences based on usage scenarios
- Consultation initiatives to help informationdevelopers apply the best practices for information architecture
To successfully perform these duties, you'll need skills todo the following:
- Meet with stakeholders across organizationallines to ascertain and assess requirements.
- Propose written solutions to stakeholders basedon customer needs.
- Enhance existing information architectures to bemore intuitive, interactive, and user-friendly.
- Formulate prospective informational designs forfurther development.
- Evaluate the performance of informationarchitectures through analysis and data mining, including web usage metrics.
- "Spread the word" to team members about informationarchitecture design principles and approaches.
"Spreading the word" is one of the key aspects of thisleadership role. To support your colleagues in these endeavors, you willdevelop and maintain in-house resources such as documents, tip sheets, andslide decks. You might even get creative and create podcasts and videos. Thisis a fundamental aspect of your role; you will establish and maintain regularcommunication channels to support colleagues and field their questions as theydevelop stellar information products for our customers. In the near term, oneof your major responsibilities in this role is to assist and support theinformation developer community as they adopt a new CCMS. This endeavor alsoinvolves bringing SMEs into the content development ecosystem. Beyond the nearterm, you will play a substantial role in helping our organization navigate thechallenges and opportunities presented by generative AI in the customer supportspace.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this senior role of Product InformationArchitect have the following qualifications:
- BS in a technical discipline or comparableexperience
- 10+ years of DITA experience and expertise
- 10+ years of working with a CCMS (any vendor)
- Expertise with authoring tools for technicalcontent development (including video development)
- Excellent interpersonal and communicationsskills
- Outstanding investigative research andanalytical skills
- Knowledge of industry trends
- Project management skills

The salaryrange for this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible toearn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
