Sales Director, Hospitals & Health Systems

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll work with the Sales & Growth team to sell our Clinical Decision Support platform, Flatiron Assist to clinicians and administrators in the hospital and health system market. As a Sales Director, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth of the Flatiron Healthcare (HC) business and our overall company growth objectives.



This job requires executive consultative selling skills, strong communication skills and ability to tell a compelling story to all levels of our client's organizations, adherence to and participation in the improvement of our sales process, client management and organizational skills, and operational discipline. We are looking for sales leaders who are excited about changing the world of oncology and healthcare. In addition, you'll also:

  • Understand the nuanced value proposition of our Flatiron Assist Platform offering and lead a consultative sale of that service line through an enterprise sales cycle
  • Develop strong client and internal relationships to identify and create new and expanded business opportunities
  • Develop a deep knowledge of all Flatiron products and services to create customized sales plans
  • Work collaboratively with the subject matter experts at Flatiron during the sales process to match customer needs and expectations. Proactive communications with the allied teams is key to the position's success.
  • Demonstrate initiative by engaging in ongoing professional development, maintaining close ties with healthcare groups and industry trends, and deepening knowledge of the competitive landscape to better position our solutions in the marketplace.
  • Continuously gather information, analyze and develop strategies concerning client and prospective client business dynamics, including stakeholder management and mapping
  • Create and deliver customized, strategic presentations and proposals.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations to get to "yes"
  • Actively collaborate with sales support teams, including Business Operations, Marketing, Legal, Clinical, and others to develop customized sales plans and progress opportunities
  • Share market intel and product feedback internally to help progress our strategic direction and product investments

This role reports into the Head of Sales and Growth. The territory for this role is to be determined, but will include Hospital and Health System Oncology Service Lines across the US. While many conversations continue to be remote, travel as needed for onsite meetings will be required.

Who You Are

You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you're a creative problem solver with 7+ years of selling healthcare service offerings.

  • You have 7+ years of experience selling an enterprise software solution, EHR, or services based consulting to hospital or health systems, preferably in oncology.
  • You have deep relationships across leading national health systems and understand the health system network (IDS, relevant GPO organizations, industry partners, etc.)
  • You have a demonstrated track record of sales goals & quota achievement in previous roles in the healthcare market.
  • You have experience in navigating the complex, multi-stakeholder hospital decision-making process and can navigate consensus-driven decisions across executive level relations
  • You have a strong understanding of sales project management, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed sales plans, and organize cross-functional efforts. Bonus - you have demonstrated proficiency in managing deals within Salesforce.com, Hubspot and other enablement tools.
  • You have the ability to effectively collaborate with internal customer-facing teams as part of the sales process.
  • You have the ability to manage competing priorities and multitask effectively while quickly and effectively progressing deals through the sales process. .
  • You are passionate about our mission to improve cancer treatment and accelerate research.
  • You are willing to travel up to 50-70% of the time, both to client meetings and industry events.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Extra Credit

  • You have experience working in the oncology healthcare services area and/or oncology sales.
  • You have experience selling clinical decision support tools
  • You have shown success in creating other channel partnerships, leveraging those relationships to accelerate new connections with hospitals and health systems.

Job Compensation Range

Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters

Salary Range: $124,000.00 - $186,000.00

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
