What will you do?

The Account Manager handle sales/account management activities for all assigned locations, defining and driving sales strategies, ensuring the achievement of bookings, revenue and business goals. They will own and drive the territory development plan for their region and work across the Matrix organization effectively.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Own all sales/ account management responsibilities of specified Thermo Fisher Scientific (FEI legacy) products to all sites including resolving any issues.
  • Define, align and implement Account Strategy for the Material Science Industrial markets.
  • Maintain accurate quarterly booking forecasts.
  • Understand all budget issues at each customer and take strategic actions.
  • Check that system configurations, specifications and acceptance conditions are appropriate for closing orders.
  • Arrange system demonstrations in close collaboration with application engineers and product marketing managers.
  • Manage the sales booking process.
  • Report product issues in the field and work closely with the Account service group and application engineers to find solutions.
  • Work with Service Team to build an excellent customer experience.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues.

How will you get here?

This position is ideal for an expert professional wanting to be involved with a motivated team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Understanding of the industry challenges is needed and ability to develop high level of applications knowledge based on industry and segment focus
  • Typically requires several years of experience in selling technically sophisticated solutions related to CAPAX products in industrial markets.
  • Highly developed skills to close sales deals and other topics with customers.
  • Structured problem-solving by working with customers and account team
  • Specific strategic selling vision to handle large and technically demanding projects along an extended period of time (over 1 year).
  • Typically requires an academic or Fachhochschule degree in topics related to Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or similar.
  • Having a good network of German Industrial Accounts is desired.
  • Capacity to look for comprehensive solutions involving other Thermo Fisher Scientific divisions.
  • Understanding of how procurement departments work in Industrial Accounts.
  • Knowledge of Electron Microscopy is appreciated
  • Excellent, keen, clear communication style to a diverse audience is essential to the success of this position
  • Ability to work in good cooperation within team combined with the capacity to work independently, self-starter.
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in German and English are needed.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and factories locally and internationally
  • Driving Licence
