Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work. 

Job Description

We are excited to recruit a Manager, Pulmonary Function Lab to join MSK. As Manager, you will supervise and coordinate the daily technical and administrative activities of the Pulmonary laboratories, ensuring efficient and proficient operations, quality service, and excellent patient care.

 

You will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Pulmonary Laboratories and ensures efficient and financially sound operations.
  • In collaboration with the Technical Director, make decisions on hiring, orientation, and evaluate staff performance. Provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities for development, as appropriate.
  • Serves as technical and clinical resource to department and Center staff on all aspects of pulmonary diagnostic testing.
  • Perform Pulmonary Function Tests, Sputum Induction, Simple Exercise Tests, Arterial Punctures, Bronchial Provocation and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing as per Department Guidelines and approved protocols.
  • Ensure availability of appropriate equipment for Pulmonary laboratories and proper maintenance of all technical equipment.
  • Create and lead formal and informal clinical education/in-service training sessions for Pulmonary Lab staff.
  • Completes all required documentation and produces necessary reports. Ensures patient testing and billing records are maintained.
  • Ensures that safety and infection control guidelines are followed.
  • Assist in developing new services and programs that improve workflow, efficiency, and patient care.
  • Communicate and ensures compliance with quality standards and improvement initiatives.

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience working as a pulmonary function technologist and 2 years of pulmonary lab supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Pulmonary diagnostic testing and Pulmonary instrumentation
  • Associate’s Degree/Certified Vocation Training
  • Licenses and Certifications required: NY State RT license, RRT certificate, BLS certification; able to obtain RFPT certificate within 6mo-1yr of hire date
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Electronic Documentation, Spreadsheets

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm

Location: 2 labs on the Upper East Side within walking distance of MSK’s main campus, 1275 York Ave. (office located here)

Pay Range: $96,000.00-$153,800.00

 

Sign-on bonus: $20,000 

Relocation: up to $20,000 – to be determined based on current region
