Your New Role

The Project Lead is responsible for leading the development of scripted series, from evaluation/selection to postproduction, overseeing multiple projects at once, for WBD's streaming platform as well as linear channels. The Project Lead's main focus includes creative lead and quality control of writers' room deliverables (e.g., scripts); management of the development schedule; and assertive communication between WBD and its creative partners, as well as other WBD's departments, involved in the process of producing a local original scripted series.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of assigned scripted series, overseeing simultaneous projects for WBD's streaming platform as well as for linear channels.
  • Evaluate and approve the deliverables related to their assigned projects (outlines, screenplays, bible, synopses) and present teammates and creators with assertive feedback on screenwriting and narrative structure, ensuring the consistency of the editorial line established by company.
  • Supervise the development schedule of assigned projects, ensuring that both parties move along accordingly (production company and WBD).
  • Maintain good communication with creators' community as well as being WBD's point person for the production houses during the entire course of development of assigned projects and when they have new projects or ideas to present.
  • Attend pitching meetings and evaluate proposed projects, elaborating internal reports regarding editorial and creative aspects.
  • Look after quality in WBD's original productions, with creative collaboration on the stages of screenwriting, casting, editing and post-production.
  • Keep the deliveries and documentation of the projects updated on WBD's intranet, facilitating the access of teammates.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA in Film, Social Communication, Radio & TV Media, Audiovisual Studies, Advertisement, Journalism or equivalent degree/work experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Broad knowledge of TV and Film screenplays, narrative structure, skilled for the reading and editorial evaluation of said material.
  • Ability to craft elaborate and accurate reports on projects currently in-production (as well as on pitches for future endeavours) which evaluate creative and technical aspects.
  • Portuguese is a plus
  • Must be a thorough consumer of culture products. This professional must always seek out novelty in literature, theatre, film, pop culture and arts in general.
  • Knowledge of Office package (Windows and Microsoft), especially Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • General knowledge of the paid TV business model as well as the Latin American audiovisual industry.

The Nice to Haves

  • Experience in paid TV, network TV, production companies, newsroom or publishing house.
  • Screenplay courses and degrees.
  • Experience in writing and/or producing audio-visual material.
  • Experience in multinational, multicultural environments, where relationships with foreign teams are desirable
