Overview
The role reports to the Principal Audit Manager (PAM) for Anti-Financial Crime Remediation & Obligation Management (AFC ROM) in Jacksonville, who in turn reports to the Head of GA AFC Remediation & Obligation Management based in Frankfurt and Chief Auditor for AFC based in New York. The Principal Auditor is responsible for working with the AFC ROM PAM on the Sanctions and Embargoes (S&E) Audit and Validation book of work including Obligations/Enforcement Actions and Group Audit Findings. The Principal Auditor will work as part of a global team and participate and advise audit teams on S&E related topics.

What You'll Do
- Assess finding validations by conducting walkthroughs, identify risks and controls, define test plan, and conclude on the test plan (with minimum PAM supervision). Be able to assess exceptions materiality and conclude (with minimum PAM supervision)
- Lead and participate on Sanctions & Embargoes audits. Provide holistic oversight of Sanctions & Embargoes audit coverage, including providing guidance to audit teams on testing programs
- Keep abreast of regulatory and audit related developments in the industry and ensure effective communication to enhance regulatory knowledge throughout the wider GA team
- Support the AFC ROM PAM on managing the team: Act as a leadership role model for the AFC team and the wider GA department, creating an environment where people management and development is a key priority
- Escalate key emerging risks to senior management through the appropriate forums - such as ad hoc communications, monthly/quarterly control reports, and management meetings
- Build strategic relationships internally and externally to enhance the department's performance and maximize stakeholder support for the department
How You'll Lead
- Partner with relevant stakeholders (e.g., AFC Delivery Assurance, Finding Owners) to provide effective communication regarding the validations they own
- Support the AFC ROM PAM liaising with other AFC PAMs and PAMs in 'Front-to-Back' audit teams to assess the Obligations/Findings landscape and audits to ensure holistic and effective validation approach
- Where necessary, challenge stakeholders (both within GA and across the wider firm) to ensure that GA maintains the highest standard of professional practice, and to ensure that the Firm fulfils its regulatory requirements
Skills You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, Juris Doctor) and professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CAMS, CFE, etc.) preferred
- Relevant experience working in an audit function within the financial services industry, with strong experience of leading audits and finding validations within a fast-paced business environment
- Good knowledge of AFC regulatory requirements, and a thorough understanding of the AFC risk and control environment within the financial services industry
Skills That Will Help You Excel
- Demonstrated experience in proactively building meaningful relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues/data simply and clearly
Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.
The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $155,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
