We are seeking a Senior Manager to join ICN's Professional & Regulatory Matters team who is eager to expand their knowledge of independence, lead various standard-setting related activities, and cultivate professional relationships both internally and externally.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager on the Professional & Regulatory Matters team, you'll work in individual and team environments using your analytical, research and communication skills to:

  • Monitor the standard-setting activities of various regulators as well as supplemental member enrichment or other projects to issue clarifying guidance;
  • Serve as an organized, proactive, and effective project manager for multiple concurrent and ongoing standard-setting projects by tracking status, executing on action items, thinking through to next steps and potential impacts, and informing various stakeholders;
  • Work with subject matter experts, ICN leadership, global independence colleagues, and other practice leaders to analyze, understand, interpret, and effectively communicate the requirements and impacts of newly issued professional standards (both orally and in writing);
  • Initiate and lead coordination with subject matter experts, ICN leadership, global independence colleagues, and other practice leaders to solicit input and prepare official firm responses to exposure drafts and other requests for public comment;
  • Proactively collaborate and work with Deloitte representatives who serve on the Boards of (or as technical advisors to) various regulators and liaise with other Deloitte professionals serving as members of task forces and/or working groups assembled to complete specific standard-setting projects;
  • Participate and influence, as appropriate, ongoing efforts to clarify, modernize, and/or converge rules and standards of various regulators;
  • Proactively demonstrate thought leadership in the area of ethics and independence rules and standards set forth by various regulatory bodies;
  • Liaise with Deloitte's policy team and assist with updating policy documents and/or implementation tools;
  • Participate on special projects as needed.

Independence & Conflicts Network

ICN performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for Deloitte U.S., helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte U.S. and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors' degree (preferably business, finance or accounting)
  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with accounting and/or independence pronouncements, standards and rules
  • Outstanding attention to detail along with strong technical, organizational, and analysis skills
  • Strong oral and written communications
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Experience in professional and regulatory requirements (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) affecting audits of financial statements
  • Knowledge of the independence rules established by the SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, IESBA, and other relevant regulators and standard-setters
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Public accounting or consulting experience

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, Nevada, New York state, and Washington State, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Nevada, New York state, and Washington state and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107,700 - $221,200.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
