Job Description:

Zendesk is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our marketing leadership team and lead the Office of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). This role requires an experienced business leader with exceptional organizational skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives. The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of the marketing team, facilitating communication, and driving key projects to success

In addition, this role will also lead a global team of Executive Assistants, ensuring a seamless and efficient support of our Marketing Leadership Team. This role does not provide direct administrative support; it partners to enable our senior marketing leaders to operate in a cohesive and effective manner to achieve our goals. This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Operations.



What youll do:

CMO Operations:

  • Work closely with the CMO to develop, refine, and execute key initiatives aligned with the overall company & marketing objectives.
  • Make the CMO & Marketing leadership operate effectively to achieve their goals, including management of the staff meetings, offsite coordination, board meeting participation, & review cycles for key initiatives.
  • Prioritize, plan & drive the CMOs meetings, reviews, & escalations to make effective use of limited time on the most important initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison for key Marketing business partners (TA, finance, People) and their programs, including leading on the Marketing LTs manager and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Advise the Marketing leadership team on effective engagements with the CMO & help the MLT provide leverage for the CMO where needed.
  • Help the CMO scale & communicate to the entire Marketing Organization through managers meetings, town halls, promotion announcements, and other communications as needed.
  • Build the culture & team for the marketing organization with team building activities & events to increase team cohesion and morale.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership and Corporate Communications to develop and roll out executive comms
  • Lead and engage in strategic projects as requested
  • Make things better for the future!!

Manager of Executive Assistants:

  • Lead a team of Executive Assistants for the Marketing org to supervise workflow, coverage, and training of the Executive Assistant team to ensure sufficient support & attainment of leadership goals.
  • Identify and facilitate best practice sharing to increase organizational effectiveness, acting as a champion of change initiatives and process improvements
  • Facilitate a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment to increase engagement of the Executive Assistant community
  • Identify development and career growth opportunities for the team through mentoring and coaching

What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of Marketing experience, including within large functional teams
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a remote environment
  • Strong executive presence, engaging with senior leaders as a trusted partner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong oral and written communication. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to amplify the success of others through coaching and mentoring
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for process improvement and demonstrated experience implementing new solution

Fully Flexible:

In this role, youll work primarily remotely with the support of a dynamic and caring team. Well provide you with the digital tools and experiences to be together-even when were apart. Being digital first doesnt mean were digital only. Youll also have the flexibility to join us at a Zendesk workspace, in one of our Zendesk offices or our flex office spaces. We will bring our people together on occasion to connect, collaborate, learn, or celebrate in person.

The US annualized base salary range for this position is $163,000.00-$245,000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only (or OTE for commissions based roles), and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives.
