Overview

You'll be joining the US Credit Risk Management - Asset-Backed Securities / Securitization team. The team is tasked with managing the credit risk associated with Deutsche Bank's securitization financing activities in the US. Credit officers are responsible for analysis and approval of securitization transactions, setting and monitoring facility limits, negotiating credit terms with the responsible business line, ongoing risk monitoring and stress testing of exposures. Credit officers will manage a portfolio of lending commitments spanning a variety of financing structures across the securitized products sector including Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS) and Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLOs).

What You'll Do
  • Responsibly apply credit authority to approve securitized transactions, ensuring exposure are consistent with bank's risk appetite
  • Ensure transactions are appropriately structured with adequate risk mitigation to address relevant adverse scenarios
  • Analyze the quality of underlying collateral, considering factors such as credit rating, industry trends and macroeconomic conditions are appropriately accounted for
  • Stay informed about market trends and conditions that may impact the performance of securitized assets, helping to anticipate and mitigate potential risks
  • Prepare detailed credit memos for approval with the relevant approver and, where appropriate, present at relevant credit committees
  • Participate in broader projects and initiatives, including portfolio reporting

How You'll Lead
  • Act as intermediary between business units and senior credit officers to facilitate credit approval
  • Actively engage with business line colleagues to monitor transaction performance and manage timely identification of adverse risks within the portfolio
  • Work across business verticals, including Finance, Audit, Market and Regulatory Risk to address transaction or portfolio specific needs
  • Address regulatory and other external stakeholder requests

Skills You'll Need
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of securitized products across various sub sectors, including ABS, RMBS and CLOs
  • Ability to evaluate sophisticated cash flow models used to project transaction performance, ensuring all relevant and appropriate scenarios and assumptions are adequately incorporated
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail, ability to explain potentially complex and nuanced transaction structures to the relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at a senior level as well as mentor and train junior colleagues

Skills That Will Help You Excel
  • Proven experience in credit risk management or related experience involving securitized products
  • Ability to lead deal reviews from start to finish; must have strong risk assessment skills and be comfortable making structural recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills paired with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information in a structured, clear, and concise way
  • Actively supports the Business strategy, plans, and values, contributing to the achievement of a high-performance culture
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to 203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
