The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

The USRM Business Lines, Line of business Product & Underwriting team is responsible for building exceptional products and product-related experiences for our customers, agents and partners across business lines. This role is with the Businessowners (BOP) Line of Business Management Product Team that is responsible for building new and enhancing existing core product offerings for the Businessowners (BOP) Product. This includes enhancing and continuously improving existing products and product-related experiences, as well as identifying and building new and innovative products and product-related experiences that meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Our team leverages data and customer feedback to bring enhancements to market.

This role will primarily support BOP product development and strategy where the team works side-by-side with our various partners (IT, Product teams, Deployment, etc.) in dedicated teams that drive project execution. Within the team, your role will focus on gathering data and performing complex competitor research, filings and market analysis to influence our strategic approach and inform key business decisions. Critical to this role is the ability to communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership. You will drive projects from inception to completion. This important work will help to differentiate Liberty Mutual in the marketplace through the creation of industry leading tools, products, and research.

Responsibilities:
  • Research & Analysis
  • Performs complex analyses to evaluate trends in user experience, contract and product performance on the Businessowner's (BOP) product line. Identifies actionable recommendations for improvements.
  • Based on strong understanding of how competitor actions impact marketplace, distribution channel and customers, conducts in depth research of competitor filings utilizing various sources.
  • Conducts high complexity analysis under minimal direction. Builds solid familiarity with countrywide issues and industry trends. Research may be at the competitor or industry level.
  • Through research, identifies and proposes changes to our product offerings.
  • Project Management
  • Independently manages projects of low to moderate complexity. Presents high complexity analyses and results of country wide initiatives to various functional areas of the organization including pricing, economics, claims, distribution and underwriting.
  • Translates product strategy into actional, clear technical requirements.
  • Develop & deliver presentations to communicate technical ideas and analytical findings to stakeholders, including Business Lines executive leadership.
  • Strategic Thinking & Influence
  • Provides thoughtful recommendations that influence countrywide strategy and initiatives.
  • Influences the direction of and implements country-wide product features and conducts high level analyses to support strategic direction of the Businessowners (BOP) product strategy.
  • Through research, analysis and strong cross-functional relationships - identifies and recommends prioritization of strategic opportunities to improve the Businessowners (BOP) product offering.
  • Mentorship
  • Serves as ad hoc resource for less experienced analysts.
  • Mentors others as assigned and when approached. May manage college interns
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field Minimum 4 year's relevant work experience, typically 6 years.
  • Master's degree beneficial. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
  • Experience managing projects preferred.
