Compensation Analyst - (18 Month Term)

Job location: our office in Ottawa, Canada

Job Purpose

The Compensation Analyst, reporting to Senior Manager, Financial Operations, is responsible for managing and administering the bonus and commission plan calculations and reporting for incentive-eligible employees at Kinaxis. Collaborating and working closely with Human Resources and other teams across the organization, including Sales, Sales Operations and Professional Services, the Compensation Analyst will ensure that all commission payments are accurately calculated, reviewed, and reported, and will serve as the primary contact for support related to commission calculations.

What you will do

  • Participate in the annual process of variable compensation plan design.
  • Create and distribute monthly/quarterly commission and bonus statements.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to obtain metrics and calculate the monthly/quarterly commissions and bonus payments.
  • Provide information to stakeholders on commissions and bonus related inquiries.
  • Create monthly journal entries for commission and bonus related accruals.
  • Manage all bonus and commission related month end processes.
  • Calculate and manage revenue share payments due to third party solution providers
  • Support quarterly and annual audit requirements.
  • Create regular and ad hoc reporting as required.

What we are looking for

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Business, Accounting or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in variable compensation at a high-tech company, publicly traded preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply sound judgement in situations that are typically covered by processes, procedures, standards, or precedents.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically when faced with challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks based on the needs of the business; proactively solicits feedback to ensure alignment.
  • A clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present information and demonstrate knowledge.

Role Specific Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with Compensation Automation Programs, Varicent is an asset.
  • Experience working with software platforms (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Agile and resilient in managing multiple tasks under tight timelines.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, and high-energy environment.
