When you’re getting ready to welcome a new baby into the world, the last thing you want to be worried about is how soon you have to be back at work. And although women in the U.S. unfortunately aren’t guaranteed paid parental leave, many employers are making strides to give working moms—and all parents—better benefits.
Take the following companies on The Muse, for example. They all offer at least 16 weeks of paid maternity leave—and some even go beyond that, with additional pre-parental leave to prepare for the baby’s arrival or phased return-to-work programs so parents can ease back into their jobs.
If you want an employer that’s going to support you or a loved one with ample recovery and bonding time after welcoming a baby into your family, consider applying to one of these companies. They’re all looking for candidates!

2. Flatiron Health
Flatiron recognizes the unique challenges parents face when a new child arrives. That’s why we offer a parental leave policy that gives you time to bond with your child and adjust to your new addition. You’ll receive 16 weeks at 100% pay, and you have a two-year window from the birth of your child to schedule your leave. Note that parental leave is in addition to the short-term disability benefit provided to birthing parents. When you return from leave, you’ll be able to work two abbreviated work weeks (60% of scheduled hours) and be paid 100% of your scheduled hours. For 12 months following the birth of your child, you’ll be able to work remotely 20% of the workweek and may work “flexible working hours” as determined with your supervisor. If you’re required to travel for work after your child arrives, you may expense the travel costs of bringing your child and an additional caregiver on the business trip during your child’s first year.
