Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work. 

Job Description

We Are:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team at MSK is comprised of over 900 Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cancer care. 

 

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) for the highly skilled bedside procedure team with flex into other IR areas including clinic.  The APP will perform independent procedures including, but not limited to paracentesis, thoracentesis and other procedures as the team expands as well as manage clinic needs. The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in performing ultrasound guided procedures, has interventional radiology knowledge, strong critical thinking skills, quick to adapt, and good understanding of patient care workflows.  

 

Hours: 7:30a-5:30p Mon-Sat 4 days/week | weekend and holiday rotation required

You Will:

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide comprehensive peri-procedural care.
  • Evaluate and triage requests for Interventional Radiology procedures deemed appropriate for bedside care
  • Serve as a clinical authority and resource providing education and consultation to healthcare team members on Interventional Radiology procedures
  • Perform bedside procedures including but not limited to tunneled venous access removal, paracentesis, thoracentesis, limited ultrasound examination
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and clinical support programs to advance growth of new care model
  • Participate in implementation of patient education to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum

Qualifications needed for a PA candidate are:

  • Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Active NYS license or be qualified for state license
  • Procedural or Ultrasound experience preferred
  • BLS & ACLS certification

Qualifications needed for an FNP candidate are:

  • Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations
  • Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • Related National NP certification
  • Family Nurse Practitioner required
  • Procedural or US experience preferred
  • BLS & ACLS certification

Pay Range $136,000K - 180,000K
